''Death is a wind that sometimes rests amongst us with so much of softness'' - Rithy Panh (Cambodian - French Filmmaker) എന്നെന്നേയ്ക്കുമായി ഭരണകൂടം കൊന്നുതള്ളിയ ഉറ്റവരുടെ ഓര്മ്മയ്ക്കുമുമ്പില് ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രം അര്പ്പിക്കുന്ന തിലോദകമാണ് റിതി പാനി (Rithy Panh) ന്റെ ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ ചലച്ചിത്രമായ 'ഗ്രേവ്സ് വിതൗട്ട് എ നെയിം' (Graves Without A Name). കംബോഡിയന് ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വംശഹത്യ പില്ക്കാലത്തേയ്ക്കു കൈമാറിയ വേദനകളുടെ ബാക്കിപത്രമാണ് ഈ വാര്ത്താചലച്ചിത്രം. ആ കഥകള് പറയാന് റിതി പാനിനേക്കാള് അനുയോജ്യനായ മറ്റൊരാളുണ്ടാവില്ല എന്നുതന്നെയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം നമ്മോടു പറയുന്നത്. സ്വാനുഭവങ്ങളുടെ തീച്ചൂളയിലൂടെ ഉരുകിയൊലിച്ചു കടന്നുപോന്ന ബാല്യകൗമാരങ്ങളാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കൊണ്ട് ഈ കഥ പറയിക്കുന്നത്. റിതി പാന് എന്ന പതിനൊന്നുകാരന് സ്വന്തം മാതാപിതാക്കളോടൊപ്പം സഹോദരങ്ങളും ഉറ്റബന്ധുക്കളും നഷ്ടമാകുന്നത് 1975 ലെ ഖമര് റൂഷ് (khmer Rouge) എന്ന കിരാതഭരണത്തിന്കീഴിലാണ്. 1979 ല് അദ്ദേഹം തായ്ലന്ഡിലെ ഒരു അഭയാര്ത്ഥിസങ്കേതത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. തുടര്ന്ന് 1980 ല് പാരീസിലേയ്ക്...
